The dream by Edward Fitzgerald (http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/edward_fitzgerald/poems/8159.html)
A dream it was in which I found myself.
And you that hail me now, then hailed me king,
In a brave palace that was all my own,
Within, and all without it, mine; until,
Drunk with excess of majesty and pride,
Methought I towered so big and swelled so wide
That of myself I burst the glittering bubble
Which my ambition had about me blown,
And all again was darkness. Such a dream
As this, in which I may be walking now,
Dispensing solemn justice to you shadows,
Who make believe to listen; but anon
Kings, princes, captains, warriors, plume and steel,
Aye, even with all your airy theatre,
May flit into the air you seem to rend
With acclamations, leaving me to wake
In the dark tower; or dreaming that I wake
From this that waking is; or this and that,
Both waking and both dreaming; such a doubt
Confounds and clouds our moral life about.
But whether wake or dreaming, this I know,
How dreamwise human glories come and go;
Whose momentary tenure not to break,
Walking as one who knows he soon may wake,
So fairly carry the full cup, so well
Disordered insolence and passion quell,
That there be nothing after to upbraid
Dreamer or doer in the part he played;
Whether tomorrow's dawn shall break the spell,
Or the last trumpet of the Eternal Day,
When dreaming, with the night, shall pass away.
Analysis: When I first read this poem, I thought like many other poems, this is very confusing. I realized in this poem that the writer is actually talking about their dream, and in this dream the writer found themselves. For evocative language, something that stood out to me was the line "When dreaming, with the night, shall pass away" I think this line stood out to me the most because I really liked the way it sounded. It sounded nice and soothing, making me want to dream. As for figurative comparison, the line "drunk with excess of majesty and pride" is an example. Its using the word "drunk" to show that there overwhelmed with majesty and pride. The big idea of this poem is that while they were dreaming, they found their true selves.

Poem 2 Analysis
The dreams by Eugene Field (http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/eugene_field/poems/9511.html)
Two dreams came down to earth one night
From the realm of mist and dew;
One was a dream of the old, old days,
And one was a dream of the new.
One was a dream of a shady lane
That led to the pickerel pond
Where the willows and rushes bowed themselves
To the brown old hills beyond.
And the people that peopled the old-time dream
Were pleasant and fair to see,
And the dreamer he walked with them again
As often of old walked he.
Oh, cool was the wind in the shady lane
That tangled his curly hair!
Oh, sweet was the music the robins made
To the springtime everywhere!
Was it the dew the dream had brought
From yonder midnight skies,
Or was it tears from the dear, dead years
That lay in the dreamer's eyes?
The other dream ran fast and free,
As the moon benignly shed
Her golden grace on the smiling face
In the little trundle-bed.
For 't was a dream of times to come--
Of the glorious noon of day--
Of the summer that follows the careless spring
When the child is done with play.
And 't was a dream of the busy world
Where valorous deeds are done;
Of battles fought in the cause of right,
And of victories nobly won.
It breathed no breath of the dear old home
And the quiet joys of youth;
It gave no glimpse of the good old friends
Or the old-time faith and truth.
But 't was a dream of youthful hopes,
And fast and free it ran,
And it told to a little sleeping child
Of a boy become a man!
These were the dreams that came one night
To earth from yonder sky;
These were the dreams two dreamers dreamed--
My little boy and I.
And in our hearts my boy and I
Were glad that it was so;
He loved to dream of days to come,
And I of long ago.
So from our dreams my boy and I
Unwillingly awoke,
But neither of his precious dream
Unto the other spoke.
Yet of the love we bore those dreams
Gave each his tender sign;
For there was triumph in his eyes--
And there were tears in mine
Analysis: When I first read this poem I thought to myself, this too was also very confusing. But after re-reading it a few times, I got the point. In this poem they were talking about two different dreams made by two different people. One from the father and one from the son, the one talking about the past is from the father and one from the present is from the son.For evocative language, something that really stood out to me was the line " And't was a dream of the busy world." I choose this line because it seemed really interesting. It states how when your dreaming, it was a busy world. As for figurative comparison, I didn't really see any similes or metaphors in this poem. The big idea for this poem is that both the father and son are having a dream. The father is dreaming about the past and how it was like while bringing him to tears. And the son dreaming about the future bringing himself to excitement.

Poem 1 Analysis
A Dream by Helen Hunt Jackson (click link here) http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/helen_hunt_jackson/poems/4311.html
I dreamed that I was dead and crossed the heavens,--
Heavens after heavens with burning feet and swift,--
And cried: "O God, where art Thou?" I left one
On earth, whose burden I would pray Thee lift."
I was so dead I wondered at no thing,--
Not even that the angels slowly turned
Their faces, speechless, as I hurried by
(Beneath my feet the golden pavements burned);
Nor, at the first, that I could not find God,
Because the heavens stretched endlessly like space.
At last a terror siezed my very soul;
I seemed alone in all the crowded place.
Then, sudden, one compassionate cried out,
Though like the rest his face from me he turned,
As I were one no angel might regard
(Beneath my feet the golden pavements burned):
"No moew in heaven than earth will he find God
Who does not know his loving mercy swift
But waits the moment consummate and ripe,
Each burden, from each human soul to lift."
Though I was dead, I died again for shame;
Lonely, to flee from heaven again I turned;
The ranks of angels looked away from me
(Beneath my feet the golden pavements burned).
Analysis: When I first read this poem I was very confused to what the writer was talking about. I didn't for sure know what the writer was talking about. But I defiantly got a negative vibe after reading this poem. As for evocative language, there was quite a lot of them in this poem, but there was one particular one that caught my eye. The line "I was so dead I wondered at no thing,--". I liked how they made this particular sentence because it's very creative. I like how they used the word dead because the person couldn't think/wonder. For figurative comparison, I didn't really see any that I liked in this poem or any at all. As for structure, I like how they built this poem up. When they were writing this poem, they liked to make it dramatic so by making it dramatic, they would make a pause at the end of the line and continue to a new line. For the Big Idea portion, I think that this poem is basically about a man trying to go to heaven after he died but is not able to because he does not belong in heaven, he belongs in hell. I say this because towards the ending of the poem, it states " The ranks of angels looked away from me" in this line it is stating that the angles are ignoring him. Also in the poem is says "Beneath my feet the golden pavements burned" in parentheses under three stanzas.

Coney Island REDO
James I. Weil, wrote the poem Coney Island Life. This author wrote this poem about the challenges you go through in life. For example, the up's and down's you go through in life, like a roller coaster or the big question in life, of when the game is going to be finally over.
In this poem, James I. Weil wrote it in a very interesting way. For example, when he wrote "helium hopes break skywards without me". I think this phare means that sometimes all your hopes and dreams just go away. But you have to deal with it because maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
In the poem, I like how the author structured his poem. For example, when he wrote "on this planet-carousel" "and ask". When he did this, he really emphasized the "and ask" part to make sure the reader really thinks about this phares
I like how in this quote "I take perhaps my last ride on this carousel and ask- how man more times around I have to catch that brass right sun before the game is up ". In this quote he compares a game of carousel to his life and dreams, questioning to himself how long am I going to live. Will I ever reach my goals and dreams in time.
So overall, after really analyzing this poem, I realized that his poem was really about his life. Comparing it to an amusement park, roller coasters and carousels. Asking to himself, how long more am I going to live or reach my goals/ dreams until this game is over? And comparing his high and low points of life to a roller coaster, having their up's and down's.

KC3 draft !
With everyone portraying that hawaii is such a beautiful place, it’s so hard to believe that theres so much homeless people here living on the streets of oahu. Also to adding to that, the economics is not recovering fast enough for people to get decent paying jobs. And the living cost is just ridiculously high since all the things are imported to hawaii because were such an isolated island. Hawaii is a beautiful place, but there is also some bad sides. For example, hawaii has a lot of homeless living on the streets, beaches, and even at the parks. But with the governments help, like Governor Abercombie’s 90-day plan and everything else that their trying to do, we can change that.
Governor Neil Abercobie’s 90-day plan has already been put into affect since it was created to move all the homeless before APEC happens. With such a big event coming up, everyone wants to make Hawaii look more appealing so more tourist comes and visits Hawaii. But with that being said, we need to clean up around here. For example, we need help move the homeless off the streets and back onto their feet. And we can achieve that by moving them into homeless shelters, finding them jobs, and moving them into affordable permanent housing. With the governor’s big push to get everybody off the streets, various governments, community groups, nonprofits, community and faith based organizations, businesses, shelters, and outreach services have all come together to focus on coordinating efforts to resolving the homeless problem in the state. But in order to succeed in this effort, we need to maintain our focus on long-term solutions that get people off the streets and into permanent housing.
Men and women aren’t the only ones being forced to live on the streets.. But also families. With Hawaii being such a isolated island, it’s hard to find some good paying jobs here. And to support a family ? That’s ten times harder. Along with finding decent paying jobs that can support everybody, there’s also the high costs of living. Everything in hawaii get’s imported from the mainland or from asia which just makes life harder by having such high prices for food. And, the cost to just rent a studio is ridiculously high. With the prices for a studio going up to 1,000 dollars a month ! So from all that, you really think a family can maintain all that with no trouble ? All the government is doing right now are kicking people off the street’s by making laws such as a eviction notice. But just because their kick them off that the one street doesn’t mean there going to find affordable housing. All their going to do is pack their things up and move to a different spot. The government need to help the homeless, not kick them off to another street. They need to encourage them to get back onto their feet’s and find a permanent housing, or look for a decent paying job.
So you must be wondering how are the government kicking the homeless of the streets ? Do they just tell them to move or what ? Well, the get lost act obviously doesn’t work because they would never leave. But for the people that live along the side walk of Beretania Street across from Aala Park, they got an eviction notice telling them to move before the next day. You may seem to think that’s a little harsh but it isn’t. The people who live, work and walk by that street every single day thinks it’s an eyesore to look at. And in my opinion I think so too. Something that Govener Neil Abercombie is trying to do is to lessen the amount of food local organizations and etc. give out to the homeless. The governor's homeless coordinator says that kind of service doesn’t get people out of homelessness. Just because your helping them out with food and water does not mean your helping out their life. “We know what they're doing isn't really working because they're getting more homeless, not less homeless,” said Marc Alexander. They are trying to get the off the streets and support themselves. Not reply on some local groups giving out food.
So with all that being said, homelessness is a big problem here in Hawaii. And we need to help stop it because there are just too many people crowding up the streets that it’s an eyesore to look at and it is also humbug for us since there is always almost no room to walk on the sidewalks with all the tents pitched up. But with the governments help and all the eviction notices there giving out, we can change that. All the homeless people need are an extra push to go back into the real world and get themselves back up to where they left off. And with the governments help, we can put them into shelters, have them talk to counselors and help them find jobs/ permanent housing so they can be back onto their feet.

Querenica Draft
As we board the airplane my brother and I so excited to land, we anxiously wait for our plane to dock. We know as soon as were gonna get there, were going to check in and go shopping a little. The first day we get to Los Angeles is usually not that exciting.. But it's the second day were looking forward to because we know thats when we get to spend the whole day at Disney Land with our whole family. Now Disney Land isn't just a special place to go to with the whole family, but its a place where we can all be ourselves. No need to dress to impress, put a whole mask of makeup on or even put on a whole different personality. Because we all already know each other so well that theres no point to go through all that. And it's not like you're going to find someone you like there because most of the people that go to Disney Land are all tourists.
Also, whenever we go there, everyone is always happy and theres usually no fights going on. Thats what I like best about our trips to Disney Land. No fighting, no screaming, and no ripping each others heads off. Usually someone in our family is fighting with another, whether it be the older people in the family or the younger people. However, right before the trip, it all gets resolved with no hard feelings. Thats why Disney Land is my Querenica because I can be who I want to me without worrying who I might run into and because my family is with me. They are the ones that made me be how I am today. They've been with me through everything, thick and thin, for sick and for worse. And no matter how much we fight, we always make up and make the best of the day .
